TORAZERO-ONE

Hi there! You’ve stumbled onto the front page for tehxo.space, a private network of services I run for my friends and family. You most likely got real nosey and removed a sub-domain from the URL, sending you to the root domain. Nice! Guess you’re curious about what this is, right?

YEAH, WHAT IS THIS?

The long story short is that we all jointly own a server running Linux, that we can install software on to avoid being locked to software by Google. Members can take advantage of software such as Immich instead of Google Photos, Nextcloud instead of OneDrive, Jellyfin instead of Netflix, Solidtime instead of Toggl, Gitea instead of GitHub– and much much more! These are free alternatives that put the control on your hands. It goes beyond just replacing services though- users can also have services spun up just for them. Minecraft servers, Websites or blogs, task trackers– anything they need, we can most likely host. Through this we’ve discovered some great open-source software such as Affine and Notesnook, too.

The entire server is community run through donations and our own time. Members aren’t required to donate but they have the option to, through our Open Collective page. This website serves (or will serve, it’s a WIP) as a homepage for everyone to see the service of statuses, make requests easier, and access what they already can easily.

OKAY, HOW DO I JOIN?

Currently the community is exclusively invite only to friends and family, and friends and family of others. If you’re here from a friend who linked you something, you can ask them and get in contact with us. Otherwise, we aren’t trying to break out that far.

In the future we’ll publish documentation and information on a new site to tell everyone how we made this happen. Hopefully we can inspire some of you to do the same!
